In light of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel and with the marking of the IDF’s and the security industry’s accomplishments, last night (Sunday) on the coast, an exhibition of land, air and sea weapons was officially opened. The celebratory opening ceremony was attended by President Shimon Perez, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, the Chief of Staff (Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi), Tourism Minister and Knesset member Ruhama Avraham, Mayor Meir Nitzan (the host), members of the security industry and other honored constituents of the security world.
Tanks, APC’s, simulators, advanced weapons systems, and a variety of aircraft and sea vessels were just a fraction of the weapons systems developed by Israel’s security industry and displayed at this spectacular exhibition. In the coming days, the exhibition will be opened to the public. This is the aerial industry, the military industry, the Elbit Systems, and the weapons development authority that has become synonymous with sophistication and technological advancements around the world. “The IDF works in close cooperation with the security industry in the development of different weapons systems,” said head of the Ground Force’s Technological Brigade, Brig. Gen. Gilad Raz. “We each give a part of the development of a product that will give the IDF the best response. We, people of the military, bring the knowledge and familiarity and the industry brings the knowledge and experience of developing the products. And working together we create noticeable achievements.”
This exhibit is an extraordinary opportunity for the public to witness their country’s strength, the industrial, economic, and security foundation that endows this country with its strength,” said Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
