In response to the two Qassam rockets and one mortar shell fired at Israeli cities this morning (Feb. 14) and the continuous firing of more than 40 rockets and mortars since the ceasefire began on January 18th, the IAF struck terror targets in the Gaza Strip. IAF fighter planes hit four tunnels used for arms smuggling on the Gaza-Egypt border. Large secondary explosions were observed following the strikes, proving the presence of weapons and munitions.
East of Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, the IAF identified and confirmed hitting two terror operatives who were known to be planning a terror attack against Israeli civilians within Israeli territory. The two operatives are known to operate for a faction of the Global Jihad Movement.
Despite the ongoing rocket and mortar fire, 73 humanitarian aid trucks carrying medical aid, food and other commodities crossed into Gaza today via the Kerem Shalom Crossing. The Erez Crossing was open for the movement of journalists and civilians in need of urgent medical care.
