Brig. Gen. Johanan Locker, IAF Chief of the Air Staff, was promoted today, January 14th 2010, to the rank of Major General and assigned as the military secretary to the Prime Minister.

The official ceremony took place in the Chief of the General staff's office in Tel- Aviv, and in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak, and Chief of the General Staff, Lieut. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi.

Brig. Gen. Johanan Locker is one of the Israeli Air Force's senior combat fighters, and is currently the Chief of the Air Staff & IAF Deputy Commander. Beforehand he served as the Head of the Air Division and the Commander of the IAF Military Base in Chatzerim.
