The IDF continues to respond diligently to Hamas’ acts of terror. On Thursday morning (Mar. 24), an IAF aircraft attacked a terrorist cell in the northern Gaza Strip, the cell preparing for launching a projectile toward Israeli territory. The attempt was thwarted.

Over the course of Wednesday night (Mar. 23), the IAF continued to target Hamas terror sites in the Gaza Strip, aircrafts striking a smuggling tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip and a terror center in the northern Gaza Strip. Direct hits were confirmed and all aircrafts returned to their bases safely.

The operations come in response to attacks toward Israel’s southern communities in previous days. A number of mortar shells and Qassam rockets fell on the Eshkol Regional Council, causing no injury or damage.

As a result of continual rocket fire from the Gaza Strip toward Israel, the IDF asks that residents of the Ashdod area as well as residents of communities surrounding the Gaza Strip stay in protected spaces for ten minutes following the sound a siren.

The IDF will continue to respond diligently to any act of terror or launching of a rocket or mortar shell from the Gaza Strip and will not tolerate any attempted attack at the citizens of Israel and IDF soldiers. The IDF suggests that Hamas not escalate the situation or test the IDF’s strength.
