4 Katyusha rockets were found ready to be fired at Israeli territory a day after a Katyusha rocket struck northern Israel. UN Middle East Envoy: “It’s time that Hezbollah disarms”

On Wednesday (Oct. 28) UNIFIL forces stationed in southern Lebanon found 4 Katyusha rockets ready for launching at Israeli territory. The rockets were spotted in their launching pads hidden inside a building.

The UNIFIL discovery comes a day after a Katyusha rocket was fired from southern Lebanon into Israeli territory. The rocket fell in an open area in the northern Galilee. No causalities were reported, however a fire broke out in the area. IDF artillery returned fire towards the source of the shooting.

Army Radio reported that Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora condemned the firing of the Katyusha rocket on Tuesday, but also condemned the “belligerent reaction of Israel,” he said. He promised that his government will take the necessary steps to prevent the reoccurrence of such acts.

Additionally, Army Radio reported that the UN Middle East envoy, Terje Larsen, said that Hezbollah still holds a large weapons arsenal. Larsen spoke at a closed Security Council session on Tuesday and added that, “It’s time that the organization disarms and becomes purely a political organization.”
