The Israel Navy has successfully tested the new Barak anti-missile system

A successful test firing of the Barak anti-missile system, conducted by the Israel Navy,  took place this week. During the test, a Barak missile was launched from the IN ship Lahav, a Sa’ar 5 type corvette, against a target simulating an enemy missile, and successfully hit its intended target. The new Israeli Barak is an improved version of the missile, which includes upgrades to its rocket interception capabilities.

During the test firing, the abilities of the missile were tested according to its development by the Israel Navy, RAFAEL Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. and the Israel Aerospace Industries. The Barak system is one of the most advanced of its kind worldwide.

The Israel Navy is improving and modernizing its battle systems in order to increase its abilities in light of the security challenges facing Israel.
