In honor of Israel's 60th anniversary, the IDF is organizing a series of diverse and celebratory events for its soldiers and Israeli civilians. The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi, described the event as a way to strengthen the bond between soldiers and officers of the IDF and Israel, between the Israeli society and the IDF's mission to serve.
During the next few months, the IDF will hold events to show its admiration for IDF soldiers and officers, and for the impressive achievements of Israel in the fields of security, economics, social development, education and culture.
